Do I need moving blankets?

For furniture, yes — wrap anything with a finish you care about, then hold the blanket on with stretch wrap, never tape on the wood.

Movers usually bring their own; if you're doing it yourself, they can be rented with the truck.

Stretch wrap also keeps drawers and doors shut and cushions together.
