How do I take my pet to another country?

Start as soon as you know where you're going. Many countries require a microchip, vaccines, sometimes a blood test and a waiting period.

A USDA-accredited vet signs the health certificate, often within a short window before travel, and many countries need it endorsed by USDA. The original travels with the pet.

Each country's rules are on the USDA APHIS pet travel site, and they change, so check them for each trip.
